Briefing

CEBLLOB is a private non-profit organisation created in 1981 with the main objective of encouraging, promoting and organising sports and physical activities within its sphere of influence, the Baix Llobregat area.

Objectives

The Baix Llobregat Sports Council came to us with the problem that, although it carries out a great many initiatives, it had a low level of reputation and notoriety. The local media were not giving visibility to the Council’s activities, and it had an unclear, confused story.

Within this situation, Intermedia Comunicación took over the Council’s communications with the objective of raising the organisation’s profile in the local media and publicising all its initiatives and activities, always within the context of the Council’s mission – to foster education in values through the practice of sports.

Our solution
Strategy

To strengthen the Council’s visibility and reputation while conveying the message of commitment to values education through sport, all the Council’s initiatives were classified according to the value they aimed to transmit. Once all these activities had been explained, we started to communicate them grouped into values: inclusion, equality, respect, etc.

 

To strengthen the organisation’s narrative, we created a claim to be used in all graphic and corporate materials: "we are values, we are sports with values".

Action plan
  1. Creation of a database of Catalan and regional media organisations.
  2. Communication, based on press releases, of all the initiatives carried out by the council, grouped by objectives and values to be transmitted.
  3. Creation of an internal document setting out the rationale for organising and grouping the initiatives and messages.
  4. Training for the spokespersons of the different areas on developing their discourse and transmitting messages in statements to the media.
  5. Drafting of opinion articles, interviews and reports for the most important media outlets in the region.
Impact
Results

In terms of results, we can highlight the considerable increase in the presence of the Council’s initiatives in all the local media outlets, which were previously unaware of the organisation’s full potential. Currently, the Baix Llobregat Sports Council features regularly in the local media when they need spokespersons to talk about sports and values. So much so that ETV Llobregat Televisió has proposed that the Council have its own programme to talk about all the initiatives being carried out. Between February 2023, when we began to provide our services, and May 2024, the Council has achieved 136 impacts in written and digital press, eight TV appearances and 13 radio appearances.
