The Restoration Guild pays tribute to Joan Manuel Serrat at the Santa Eulàlia festival

Since 2018, the Barcelona Catering Guild has been organising a festival in honour of Santa Eulàlia, co-patron saint of the city, attended by numerous professionals from the sector and representatives of public authorities, economic agents, civil society and the world of culture and sport. For the third consecutive year, it was held in the Paloma festival hall, an emblematic space that had been closed for many years.
This year, the guest of honour was the great Joan Manuel Serrat (Barcelona, 1943), an indisputable reference in modern music and a universal Barcelona native, author of some of the most emblematic songs of Catalan and Spanish music, such as Mediterráneo, Palabras de amor, Aquellas pequeñas cosas, Cantaste, among others. Serrat was not alone on stage, as he was joined by Lolita Flores and surprised by the musician from Badalona, Miguel Poveda.
The Santa Eulàlia event was also attended by the mayor of the city, Jaume Collboni, who acknowledged the great work done by the city's restaurants, and stressed that ‘the tradition, talent, product and innovation of our bars and restaurants is demonstrated every day and figures such as the 43% increase in the number of terraces in the city since 2018 are an example’.
The Santa Eulàlia event was attended by numerous professionals from the sector and representatives of the public authorities, such as the former President of the Generalitat, José Montilla, and social figures such as Felipe Campos, CEO of Aigües de Barcelona and Artemi Nolla Winkel, and prominent figures from the world of culture and sport, such as the chef Carme Ruscalleda and Raül Balam, the restaurateur Ada Parellada, actors such as Dafnis Balduz and actresses Maria Molins, Mercedes Sampietro, Lucrecia and Betsy Túrnez, among others.
In previous editions, the people honoured by the Barcelona Restoration Guild have been Manuela Carmena (2018), Lluís Sans (2019), José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero (2020), Julieta Serrano (2022), Boris Izaguirre (2023) and Lola Herrera (2024).
Within this scenario, the Guild entrusts Intermedia, from 2022, with the press office of the event. In this regard, the agency's main objectives are to invite and coordinate the media, the event, achieve maximum media coverage and manage interviews with the award winners.
Intermedia was responsible for sending out a press call a few days before the event to invite the media to the event and ensure maximum attendance.
On the day of the event, the agency was in charge of welcoming the media, organising the photocall and the photographs and statements before and after the event. Finally, a selection of the best photographs was made and a press release was sent to the media.
