XIII FemCAT's Forum - Catalan Legacies

The commission
Briefing

FemCAT is a private foundation that brings together businessmen and businesswomen with the mission to work for Catalonia and try to make it one of the best countries in the world. In their actions, they articulate and support projects and programs in which business and society can work together and take a step forward in social and economic terms.

The basics of the foundation were laid between 2003 and 2004 by a Catalan business community convinced of the potential of Catalonia, which has subsequently been gathering partners and members, until now there are more than a hundred. This 2024 FemCAT celebrates 20 years of its birth and wanted to celebrate it by organizing a series of activities, such as its XIII Forum.

Objectives

Within this context, FemCAT commissioned Intermèdia Comunicació to support the organization of the XIII FemCAT's Forum, with the aim of conceptualizing the event, devising the strategy to be followed to achieve a successful event and to bring together important personalities from the political, economic, business, collegiate and social fields, among others. The aim of this celebration was to focus on FemCAT's role as a driving force for the Catalan business fabric, to recognize its 20 years of work and to discuss with high-level speakers what the next two decades hold in store. Intermèdia was also entrusted with part of the technical secretariat work, as well as communication management.

Our solution
Strategy

A team from Intermèdia Comunicació was in charge of the conceptualization, organization and communication of the event. From the beginning, coordination with the client was key to manage all logistical aspects prior to and during the event. It was taken into account that the event had to reflect the work of the Foundation and also the legacy it wanted to transmit to the future, putting at the center the work that had been carried out so far.

On the one hand, it was important to frame the event as part of the celebration of the Foundation's twentieth birthday, but on the other hand, it was also important to convey a message of the future to the attendees. For this reason, logistical tasks were coordinated with speakers, suppliers and designers, and a large database was set up to bring together all the people who were interested in attending the forum, where part of the technical secretary tasks depended on Intermèdia.

Likewise, in the press office area, Intermèdia was in charge of introducing the Forum to the media, organizing a presentation press meetup, arranging media interviews with the speakers and the president of FemCAT, as well as drafting several press releases before and during the event. The agency was also in charge of preparing press clipping and carrying out the economic valuation of the impacts achieved with the media.
